Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 5, 2026
BridgeStar (“BridgeStar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a software platform jointly operated by Kaufman & Company and Lonestar-Kaufman Development Partners LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through bridgestar.ai (the “Site” or “Platform”), how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Account registration: name, email address, password, role or track (for example borrower, advisory client, contractor, land partner, or employer), and any optional note or opportunity details you provide when creating an account.
- Contact form: the message content you submit, which is sent to our team by email.
- Deal, closing, and engagement information: once you have an account, information and documents you or your counterparties submit through the platform to complete a financing, closing, or advisory engagement. Depending on the engagement, this can include identity documents, banking details (such as routing and account numbers), and other financial or transaction information necessary to complete underwriting, funding, and closing. The Platform includes tools that let you redact sensitive information (such as a Social Security number or account number) from a document image before uploading it, and access to bank routing/account numbers on file is restricted and logged.
- Security information: login activity and the one-time email verification codes used for multi-factor authentication.
Analytics and Cookies
The Site does not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. The Platform uses session cookies or local storage strictly to keep you signed in and to operate the application.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to create and administer your account, respond to inquiries, process and complete the deals and engagements you submit through the Platform (including underwriting, verification, funding, and closing), secure your account (including multi-factor authentication and fraud prevention), operate and improve the Site, and comply with legal, regulatory, and anti-money-laundering (AML/KYC) obligations.
Sharing of Information
We share information with the other parties to your specific deal or engagement as necessary to complete it (for example, a lender, borrower, guarantor, or their counsel), with service providers who help us operate the Platform (such as hosting, email delivery, and remote online notarization providers), and with Kaufman & Company and Lonestar-Kaufman Development Partners LLC as the platform's joint operators. We do not sell your personal information. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including the retention of deal and closing records after an engagement concludes, unless a longer or shorter period is required by law.
Your Choices
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, contact us at info@thekaufmanco.com. Because closing and underwriting records may be subject to recordkeeping obligations, deletion requests tied to an active or completed deal may be limited by law or contractual requirements.
Third-Party Links
The Site links to third-party sites, including Kaufman & Company (thekaufmanco.com), Lonestar-Kaufman Development Partners LLC (lonestarkaufman.com), and the other Kaufman & Company family companies referenced on the Site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect, including password requirements, email-based multi-factor authentication, and access controls that restrict a given deal or engagement to that client and authorized staff only. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above reflects the most recent revision.
